Dr. Hatcher and Reach Orthodontics partner with many local charities every year. These partnerships allow Reach Orthodontics to give to the community that supports them and their efforts to provide dental and orthodontic care to under-served populations around the world.
Dr. Hatcher makes it his personal mission to use Reach Orthodontics as a conduit to provide help for those in need. This month our blog is being used to highlight Manna House and their mission to provide food relief to our local community.
Who is Manna House?
Established in 2004, Manna House is a local community non-profit charity organization that provides food assistance for those in need. The organization is part of a network of charitable organizations operating within the Huntsville Dream Network.
How does Manna House serve?
Manna House has several programs that run weekly throughout the year. These programs are designed to provide support to community families in a variety of ways.
Three evenings a week, the program opens its doors for food distribution to individuals, families and the area homeless population. No one in need of food assistance is turned away.
The Backpack Program provides snacks and ready-to-eat meals for children in the school system who don’t have access to food on the weekends or when not in school.
Mom-to-Mom is a program that helps new and expectant mothers with diapers, wipes, clothing and support during a child’s early developmental years.
How can I help?
Manna House programs are run largely with volunteers. They are happy to have any volunteers, age 4 and up, to show up during program hours. There is no need to sign up or to commit to the entire time frame. This is an open volunteer opportunity for all.
